of Archbishop Stepinac High School! 

Last Week's Con Edison "Athlete of the Week!"  

103.9 WFAS congratulates Thomas Decker, a Senior at Archbishop Stepinac High School!

 Thomas Decker has been a leader on the Basketball court and Football field since his Freshman year of High School. In 2006, he was the Freshman Basketball MVP, Freshman Football Offensive MVP and Captain. In 2007, he was the JV Basketball Captain and Offensive Player of the Year along with being the JV Football Quarterback and MVP of the AA Championships. Currently, Thomas is the starting Varsity Basketball Guard and Captain and has led the Crusaders to a 3-0 start this season with wins over Msgr Scanlon, Regis and AAA powerhouse, Archbishop Molloy. This is Stepinac's first win over Molloy in the school's history. Thomas is averaging 11 points, 6 assists and 2 steals per game and is shooting 60% from 2 and 3 point ranges. He has helped lead the Crusaders to 17 victories in his two year Varsity career and plans to continue his basketball career at Geneseo State University of New York next year. 

Academically, Thomas is an exemplary student and is a member of the National Honor Society, President's Club and has received the Pace Lubin School of Business Award this year. He also received the Nick Ciccione 2006 Sportsmanship Award from the Catholic Youth Program in Port Chester and attended the 2009 World Youth Summit at the Waldorf Hotel in New York with Colin Powell. In his spare time, Thomas volunteers at the White Plains food pantry and coordinates the "Hoops for Hope" sneaker drive and the "Coaches vs. Cancer" fundraiser. Thomas tutors underclassmen at Stepinac in addition to being a volunteer counselor at the 2008 and 2009 Swish Hoop Basketball Camp.
