Danny Almonte meets the anti-Danny Almonte at 11 this morning when Stepinac's baseball team hosts Monroe High School of the Bronx and Almonte, its infamous senior star pitcher/first baseman.

Almonte received national attention in 2001 when his Bronx-based Little League team was disqualified from the Little League World Series because officials discovered the dominant Almonte, at 14 years old, exceeded the age limit.

The following summer, Bedford Hills' 13-14 travel team was disqualified from its state tournament after officials learned Alex Maruri, who's now a sophomore at Stepinac, was only 12, which was below the age requirement.
